This is NOT the Sipsey River Picnic Area Trailhead....this is the Borden Creek Trailhead. I'm not sure why it is incorrectly named on here.
A truly unique area that is unexpected in the middle of kinda nowhere. After a decent rain there are waterfalls a plenty and some stay without a good raining. Its peaceful and quiet with the occasional encounter with a fellow hiker. Great for kids/families or just by yourself. The path is primarily a straight ahead affair with options to climb up hills if you like. The river offers a chance to cool off whenever you need. One word of warning, it's the woods in Alabama... Ticks ticks and ticks (okay that's four..but) Always make sure to bring spray and be prepared to do a check over.
